Okay! Here we go. Let's get down to business!
My name is Samantha and I am, among other things, a craftaholic. My husband Jacob is an incredibly talented carpenter and artist. We live in the center of Tennessee with our hilarious two-year-old daughter Aria, a crotchety beagle named Stella and our patient golden retriever Remi. Over the years, we started making small home décor items for friends and family, then graduated to large pieces of furniture, and I branched out into baby gear and cleaning products and more. Like, a lot more. That's the craftaholic part.
So, we decided to just jump right in and open Carter's Cozy Nest as a way to use our gifts to touch as many hearts as possible. You can always find cute items in stores, but there is something special about holding an item in your hands that was created in someone else's. It's personal. It's the best part of home.
I have a lot of goals for this blog. The first is to compile my random bits of knowledge and insight in one place, for others to learn or just for me to refer back to when my memory fades - which, let's be honest, is probably happening now and I just can't remember that I'm forgetting things. The second is to provide updates on our custom furniture projects so the customer can keep track of their order through the different stages of creation. And finally, to touch hearts. If I can brighten one day for one person, I'm a happy camper.
